Unit 1 Reflection

Unit 1 Reflection ______________________ For my curated source collection for Unit #1, I chose to have my sources focus on the idea of technological evolution and the way it influences or contributes to communication. The quality of my sources are efficient, as I believe that I chose a solid range from different reputable sources/authors. I used New York Times, Forbes, TedTalk, and a keynote presentation. I also made sure to include different time eras for a range of opinions/points of views regarding technology. To enhance my project, technology was actually quite beneficial. I needed to use my computer as well as an online blog platform to have somewhere to post my curated sources and other blogs. I enjoyed using this website, as it was easy to navigate and post content on. I used online databases like the Syracuse library as well as google search in order to look for my sources for the project. When it came time to utilize the sources for instance, the keynote presentation was...

Unit 1 Portfolio

Unit 1 Portfolio ______________________   Source Analysis #1 " A Pencil Shop, for Texting the Old-Fashioned Way " by Molly Young Digital Newspaper (New York Times) The New York Times article titled "A Pencil Shop for Texting the Old-Fashioned Way" by Molly Young explores the newfound use of old writing tools, such as pencils, in a modern age that is overtaken by technology, quick forms of communication, and electronic devices. Although digital communication is rapidly replacing traditional writing tools, the purpose of Young's text was to explore the ways that other forms such as pencils still manage to remain relevant. There's a clear sense of nostalgia for more meaningful and authentic ways of communication, which is likely to resonate with an older or more old-fashioned audience in comparison to one who supports the continuous evolution of technology. Young blends in storytelling aspects by learning about the founder of the pencil shop, Caroline Weaver...

Surveys/Polls/Quizzes

Surveys/Polls/Quizzes... ______________________ Disney Princess Quiz https://www.buzzfeed.com/catiefoody/disney-princess-dream-wedding-quiz The quiz that I took was on buzzfeed.com, and it determines which Disney princess best reflects you based on your wedding preferences. I personally never put great thought into my wedding, but I distributed the quiz amongst a few of my female friends (each person's engagement in wedding planning varies). The questions include dress and ring types, food options, wedding destination and size requests, and more.  Based on my answers, I was matched with Ariel as I ‘dream big’ and ultimately fight for what I truly love. My results seemed pretty generic to me but I did relate, and my friends' princesses slightly ranged. They either also got Ariel, Belle (slightly more introverted), or Jasmine who is more bold. I enjoyed the range of answers, as each of us felt that the selected princess resonated in some way.  I think that quizzes like these, es...

What I eat throughout my Saturday... ______________________ Breakfast <3 For breakfast, I love to start my day with a filling and nutritious meal. Since I usually wake up early and hungry, I'll shower and get dressed, then head straight to the kitchen to prepare my first meal of the day. I've been attempting to step out of my comfort zone with cooking, so I decided to make a chicken-bacon potato breakfast scramble. It's full of protein and carbs to keep me feeling full for the morning, and I always enjoy cooking by myself on the weekends!  Ingredients:   Potatoes, bacon, chicken Kale, avocado, onion, mushrooms Cheese, and ketchup (not shown) Lunch <3 By the afternoon, I began to get hungry again and decide to be creative with my next recipe. I made the viral 'Anna Paul turkish pasta,' which was surprisingly easier to make than I had expected. I don't usually eat pasta (I ate way too much of it during quarantine and became sick of it), but I chose to step ...
